Year 4: Making Food Packaging in Design and Technology

In DT, we have been learning about different types of food packaging and how they are made.  We looked at why certain materials and designs were used for different types of food, and target audiences.  We also researched and investigated how food is kept fresh, and how the choice of packaging needs to take this into consideration.

We then designed our own food packaging, based on a design criteria, and constructed a 3D prototype.  We then added on all of the important information that needs to be on the packaging from the ingredients to a sell by date.  The children loved creating their own packaging.
