Wonderful 4 Willow Week 4 Home Learning!

Image
This week you have surpassed yourselves...what amazing work! You worked on multiplication, learned about gladiators and Roman childhoods, went on a virtual vertebrate hunt in Mrs Kemp’s back garden, completed some amazing PE challenges, learned about being safe when going out and talked about vegetables in French! You were also brilliant in your live lessons, what wonderful discussions you have, even when the internet is acting up 🤪 Here is a sample of your work...can you find a piece you did?

Fantastic work from Year 5

Image
As part of their work in Science, Year 5 have been examining the work of Jane Goodall. She is a British scientist who has studied chimpanzees for many years. This amazing Scientist is considered to be the world expert on chimpanzees and their behaviour. After learning about her career, students in Year 5 created wonderful adverts to ask people to help the Jane Goodall Institute save endangered chimpanzees by donating some money. The work that was produced was creative, powerful and showcased the talent we have in this year group. Please see for yourselves.

I'm sure that Year 6 learnt lots of interesting facts when they completed this comprehension task. I particularly liked the Challenge task.  Another English task involved writing a character profile for 2 contrasting characters.  English - Year 6 were also asked to plan and write a newspaper report. Art - As part of their topic Year 6 have been looking at North American art and in particular the work of John Singer Sargent. For this task they were given half of am image and had to create the missing half.  Some of us had a go at recreating
