Year 3 master Adders!

 In Year 3 this week, we introduced column addition, which the children needed a lot of time to practise, so we did! We got counters out and spend time learning why we exchange and carry underneath. Then they took time having a go in their books!  Please ask them to show you, and spend some time going over it if you can, practise makes perfect! 

Year 4 Pilates

All half-term Year 4 have been learning all about how Pilates can help improve our core strength and balance.  This week, we put together a series of Pilates techniques and transition movements to help us relax, de-stress and promote inner calm. Just what was needed after a busy half-term! And breathe...

Y5 D.T Pneumatics

In D.T this term the children have designed and made talking boxes  using  a pneumatic system to create movement. We decided how to join the components and use suitable decoration and finishing techniques.

3 Holly - Sumdog Winners!

 On Monday 3 Holly enjoyed celebrating their Sumdog win by having the ‘house opened’ and spending their hard earned coins! 

Year 6 - Black History Month!

This month, Squirrels have been celebrating Black History Month - learning about key figures and events. In Year 6 this week, we have focussed on 'Windrush'. The children have learnt a lot about the Windrush journey and the events that followed for the people of Windrush. In 6 Palm, we have even been reading 'The Windrush Child' by Benjamin Zephanniah. In English lessons, children made an information leaflet all about Windush. In topic, children worked in groups to create posters about the event. In music this week, children have been learning about Jazz and focussed on different black music artists, including Nina Simone and Louis Armstrong amongst others. Year 3 PE- Pilates and Games!

 In Year 3 we have had so much fun doing Pilates in the hall as well as games outside. We have made a sequence of moves to music, and developed our ball control outdoors…what a lot of physical fun! 😁
