Cooking in Year 4

Image
This week we have been improving recipes in Year 4.  Two weeks ago, we tasted hummus, fruit skewers and vegetable crisps.  Based on our taste test, we then decided how we could make them better.  After making them this week, we had some great results and managed to make some good improvements.  These additions included: changing the fruit and vegetables we used, adding roasted peppers to hummus and cinnamon to our fruit skewers. It was great fun!

Space in the Immersive Room This week Y5 enjoyed exploring the Solar System using our new Immersive Room. The images were captivating and when touched contained many scientific facts about the planets. The children where so excited with  this new and interactive approach to learning science  and other subjects.

This week was Cookery week in DT and the children in Holly, Birch and Maple have been amazing! They have practised cutting, peeling, slicing and chopping a selection of vegetables to make ratatouille. They also prepared 5 potato dishes, and enjoyed sampling and comparing the different tastes and textures. Finally, we made tacos 🌮 with a selection of fillings, meat and vegetarian!
