Squirrels Heath Junior School

This week in Science we have been investigating the properties of materials. Properties include hardness, solubility, transparency, conductivity (electrical and thermal) and magnetism. Material's properties dictate what they can be used for.  

 A huge thank you to our Maths Ambassadors who have now come to the end of their role.  They have been hugely dedicated to their role as well as inspirational to their peers! They have been rewarded with a small gift and a certificate for their hard work! More information will follow in coming weeks regarding new Maths Ambassadors!

 On Tuesday, 3 Holly went on a walk around the local area to explore how the land is used for residential, commercial, transposed, recreational, educational and religious purposes. We then then created some amazing maps using Google maps and our iPad pictures when we returned! 

 Our classes have had a busy week completing their mock tests in preparation for the real thing. We are so impressed with their attitude and hard work towards their learning. Not long now until the real thing... The children made sure they had a great lunchtime after their busy mornings this week.  Well done and keep going everyone!

 In DT we used tetrahedrons to get ideas for reinforcing our cube frames…Munachi and Marvel made a structure that could hold 50 books without buckling! 😲🤯
