This morning, Year 6 had a special visit from the theatre company with a fantastic and interactive show of Romeo & Juliet.  We were transported to Verona to watch the famous Shakespearean love story.  Year 6 have been studying Romeo and Juliet this half term and so this has been a great way to consolidate our learning!

Christingle Assembly

Image
This week in Assembly we learned about the Christingle. We had the opportunity to explore how to make them in class and learned about the different components. A Christingle is a symbol of Christianity and is made from an orange and dried fruit. The orange represents the world. The red ribbon represents the love and blood of Christ. The sweets and dried fruits symbolise all of God’s creations and the lit candle represents Jesus’ light in the world. We had a wonderful time!

TTRS contest winners!

Last week, we ran our first inter-year TTRS contest! Each class played against the other classes in their year group.  It was great to see so many children get involved and practice their times tables along the way! We can assure you the teachers were just as competitive as the children! The winners were: Year 6 - Pine Class Year 5 - Elm Class Year 4 - Birch Class Year 3 - Palm Class Each child in the winning class was awarded a special pencil for their win! A special shout out to Christian F in 6 Pine scored 34000 points and answered the most questions correctly in the whole school!   Well done to all the winning classes.  We will be running another contest next term so stay tuned!
