We have all had a great afternoon at our class parties. There has been lots of games, dancing and FOOD!  The children have all really enjoyed themselves and we are sure there will be enough food to be able to enjoy it tomorrow as well.

Squirrels Heath Choir on Tour!

Image
Squirrels Heath Choir Our wonderfully talented choir were finally able to showcase the fruits of their hard work over the last two weeks. Travelling the length and breadth of Romford, they delighting audiences with their sonorous renditions of carols, old and new. The children should be especially proud of their performances at The Queen's Hospital and Moreland House Care Home as I am sure they put smiles on many, many faces and helped everyone get into the Christmas spirit. They even helped raise money for both the hospital and Squirrels Heath Juniors itself.  We will receive a certificate from Queen's shortly telling us how much we raised but they were able to earn £57 for the school after their visit to Romford Shopping Hall. Christmas Singing Assembly.

Image
We would like to say a big thank you to Mrs Jenkin for coming into school today and leading a Christmas singing assembly. All of the children loved the songs and the actions. They really got into the Christmas spirit. We even managed to include a four-part round. Millie, in year 4, commented, “I sang so much I got out of breath!” After such a great assembly we are sure that everyone is ready for Christmas!

Year 4 Play

Image
Last week our Year 4 pupils performed their Christmas Play. The children entertained us all with their wonderful acting and singing and reminded us about how important it is that we take the time to look out for one another at Christmas. Thank you to Year 4 pupils and staff for all your hard work and for working together to make the performance such a success. A big thank you too to everyone who came to watch -it was lovely to see so many of you there!

Topic Open Afternoon

Image
We held our end of topic open afternoon today in school. Thank you to all parents, carers and family members who attended. We appreciate that you are all very busy this time of year but the children really enjoyed seeing you and showing off everything they have learnt about their topic.     If you missed it, please don't worry. Our next topic celebration will take place just before February half term. Hope to see you then.

Miles the Mole

Last week, Years 6 received a visit from Miles the Mole! This was a production that aimed to educate the children in a fun way on the important issue of air quality. Children had fun while learning about both the science of air pollution and ways to reduce it.
