Tri-Golf Festival 24.04. 2025

 On Thursday, some children from Years 3 and 4 represented our school at the Havering Sports Collective - Tri-Golf Festival, held at Harold Wood Primary School, involving 14 local primary schools.  The children had great fun developing their club and putting skills through 8 different activities, with the help of the sport leaders from a local secondary school.  Squirrels Heath Junior won the Grand National activity, with the highest score of 56 points!  Well done everyone! 

Year 4 learn hands-on fractions

 This week, year 4 have been learning fractions using Numicon to see how to add and subtract mixed numbers...seeing it in action has really helped! 

Descriptive writing in Year 3! 🌋

The immersive room ignites Year 3's descriptive writing! Immersed in a volcano experience, Year 3 have crafted descriptions using their senses to bring the fiery landscape to life.

Science fun in Year 6🐻‍❄️🌊

 This week we have been planning and carrying out our own investigation into how polar bears stay warm.  In groups we used freezing water and rubber gloves to simulate different layers of insulation.  Despite our cold hands, we had lots of fun along the way! Well done to everyone!!

4 Poplar’s amazing trip to the River Thames Barrier

Yesterday, 4 Poplar had a great day at the River Thames Barrier. While on the river bank they tested the quality of the water and searched for artefacts. After lunch, we explored the course of the river and looked at different artefacts from various time periods.  4 Poplar had an amazing time and have been speaking about it all day today!
