The immersive room ignites Year 3's descriptive writing! Immersed in a volcano experience, Year 3 have crafted descriptions using their senses to bring the fiery landscape to life.
This week we have been planning and carrying out our own investigation into how polar bears stay warm. In groups we used freezing water and rubber gloves to simulate different layers of insulation. Despite our cold hands, we had lots of fun along the way! Well done to everyone!!
Yesterday, 4 Poplar had a great day at the River Thames Barrier. While on the river bank they tested the quality of the water and searched for artefacts. After lunch, we explored the course of the river and looked at different artefacts from various time periods. 4 Poplar had an amazing time and have been speaking about it all day today!
This afternoon, we have been exploring the course of the river Thames and have been looking at different artefacts that have been discovered from different time periods. It’s been great fun. We will be leaving soon to get back to school
We have had a great day so far. We made good time this morning and managed to get here on time. We then quickly moved onto the river bank. While we were there, we teated the water quality and explored for artefacts. We found some great things. We are now having our lunch and looking forward to the afternoon. This week Year 5 had a lovely sunny visit to the local allotments. We learned about seasonality, what makes a good allotment, and how they benefit the local community and environment. Some of us even brought home seeds to try to grow at home.
