Welcome to Reception!
Last week in Reception, the children were settling in, making new friends and getting used to their new classrooms and routines. They have been learning to put away their own belongings and become more independent. We have worked on learning some of the important rules to help us to be a kind and helpful member of the class, including "choose it, use it, put it away" to support with keeping our classrooms tidy. During our carpet sessions, we have focused on being good listeners and the children have been excited to join in with number songs and stories each day. They have really enjoyed exploring the Reception outdoor environment and have been playing with the sand, water, musical instruments and dress up. They have experienced our Big Run sessions in the infant playground and this has been very popular, allowing the children to improve their gross motor skills by playing with bats, balls, skipping ropes and other physical development toys.
