Birds of Prey

This half term, Year 3 are studying the topic Predator! This week we had a visit from some birds of prey to help us to find out more about this type of predator.

We got to meet a variety of birds of prey and learned many facts about them.


Wordsworth the long-eared owl was only 6 months old!

Fudge the barn owl flew right over our heads!

Arizona the Harris hawk.

Big Alice the eagle owl loved having her tummy tickled. 

In the afternoon we became scientists and dissected owl pellets to see what they had been eating. 






We found mouse and shrew skulls along with other bones. 

It was a fantastic day and we learned so much!

Netball: Havering CHAMPIONS!

 Well done to our FANTASTIC netball team for winning the Havering league today.  They have officially been crowned the best netball players in Havering! 30 teams entered the tournament at the beginning and it was down to the final 4 today in the semi finals. First we beat Gidea Park and then squirrels went on to beat James Oglethorpe 12-4 in the final - a very well deserved win. Compliments were given by all other coaches and the sports collective on what an amazing tournament we have had.  Well done again Squirrels and a huge well done to Mr Leslie for all his hard work and dedication as a coach.

Year 4 trip to the National Gallery

 We are having a great time at the National gallery today. We got here in good time and are enjoying looking at the great artwork on display. I think many of the children are also looking forward to having lunch and as always the train trip has been a highlight.  More photos to follow.
