Year 4 explore the feelings of masters and servants in RE...

 This week we looked at Moses and why he wanted to free his people. The children took turns being masters and servants, and had to complete unpleasant tasks such as peeling grapes and separating grains of rice from raisins using chopsticks...we explored how it feels to be made do jobs that they do not wish to do, and talked about Moses and why he asked the pharaoh to free the slaves. The children had some fantastic discussions about how all the different people felt at this time..

Netball: Havering CHAMPIONS!

 Well done to our FANTASTIC netball team for winning the Havering league today.  They have officially been crowned the best netball players in Havering! 30 teams entered the tournament at the beginning and it was down to the final 4 today in the semi finals. First we beat Gidea Park and then squirrels went on to beat James Oglethorpe 12-4 in the final - a very well deserved win. Compliments were given by all other coaches and the sports collective on what an amazing tournament we have had.  Well done again Squirrels and a huge well done to Mr Leslie for all his hard work and dedication as a coach.

Year 4 trip to the National Gallery

 We are having a great time at the National gallery today. We got here in good time and are enjoying looking at the great artwork on display. I think many of the children are also looking forward to having lunch and as always the train trip has been a highlight.  More photos to follow.
