Amazing Athletes from Squirrels Heath Junior School!

OUR YEAR 4 ATHLETICS TEAM

This afternoon our year 4 athletics team attended an indoor Athletics event at Harold Lodge Sports Centre to compete against other primary schools from the local area.

Every single child represented the school, many for the first time, faultlessly.  Their effort, sportsmanship, support of one another and general attitude and behaviour was a real credit to the school and Mrs Cross was very proud of them all.

The children gave each other tremendous encouragement and the sense of being in a team was so evident throughout the afternoon.

The team came joint 2nd overall, this a great result! 

A big thank to Mrs Ridley for her help and support this afternoon!

Netball: Havering CHAMPIONS!

 Well done to our FANTASTIC netball team for winning the Havering league today.  They have officially been crowned the best netball players in Havering! 30 teams entered the tournament at the beginning and it was down to the final 4 today in the semi finals. First we beat Gidea Park and then squirrels went on to beat James Oglethorpe 12-4 in the final - a very well deserved win. Compliments were given by all other coaches and the sports collective on what an amazing tournament we have had.  Well done again Squirrels and a huge well done to Mr Leslie for all his hard work and dedication as a coach.

Year 4 trip to the National Gallery

 We are having a great time at the National gallery today. We got here in good time and are enjoying looking at the great artwork on display. I think many of the children are also looking forward to having lunch and as always the train trip has been a highlight.  More photos to follow.
