Understanding how sound travels in Year 4

This week, in science, we have been investigating how sound travels.  We devised our own investigation using a tuning fork to prove that sound does in fact travel in waves.  We worked out that if we place a vibrating tuning fork, gently, into water we can see ripples moving through the water.  Thus proving that sound does travel in waves.

We also learnt about how sound travels from its source to a persons ear and how the vibrations do not stop when they enter the ear!

We can't wait for next week when we get to make our own models of the human ear!
