Squirrels at the London Marathon

Congratulations to all pupils who took part in the mini London marathon. It was lovely to have our school so well represented on the day! All pupils taking part ran the mile-long course,  some of them being accompanied by family members or classmates. Upon completion of the race, participants received a medal. When asked about the experience, all of the children who took part said that they had a fantastic time and couldn’t wait to take part again next year!

Squirrels Heath also had representation in the adult marathon. Mrs Chappell, our office manager, ran the twenty-six mile course to raise money for Crohn’s and Colitis UK. This was the second time she completed the London marathon, crossing the finish line in 5 hours, 1 minute and forty-six seconds, a personal best.

We are so proud of all our Squirrels and we hope that they inspire even more people in our community (children and adults) to take part next year! Go Squirrels go!

Netball: Havering CHAMPIONS!

 Well done to our FANTASTIC netball team for winning the Havering league today.  They have officially been crowned the best netball players in Havering! 30 teams entered the tournament at the beginning and it was down to the final 4 today in the semi finals. First we beat Gidea Park and then squirrels went on to beat James Oglethorpe 12-4 in the final - a very well deserved win. Compliments were given by all other coaches and the sports collective on what an amazing tournament we have had.  Well done again Squirrels and a huge well done to Mr Leslie for all his hard work and dedication as a coach.

Year 4 trip to the National Gallery

 We are having a great time at the National gallery today. We got here in good time and are enjoying looking at the great artwork on display. I think many of the children are also looking forward to having lunch and as always the train trip has been a highlight.  More photos to follow.
