Year 6: English!

Our writing lessons are based around our text ‘Goodnight Mister Tom’ which is set around the time of World War 2.


So in our most recent writing lessons, we focused on propaganda. We looked at what it meant and why it was (and still is!) used.

Children looked at different propaganda posters and tried to work out what the messages behind them were. They then went on to create their own propaganda pieces, persuading mothers to allow their children to be evacuated. Great work Year 6!

Netball: Havering CHAMPIONS!

 Well done to our FANTASTIC netball team for winning the Havering league today.  They have officially been crowned the best netball players in Havering! 30 teams entered the tournament at the beginning and it was down to the final 4 today in the semi finals. First we beat Gidea Park and then squirrels went on to beat James Oglethorpe 12-4 in the final - a very well deserved win. Compliments were given by all other coaches and the sports collective on what an amazing tournament we have had.  Well done again Squirrels and a huge well done to Mr Leslie for all his hard work and dedication as a coach.

Year 4 trip to the National Gallery

 We are having a great time at the National gallery today. We got here in good time and are enjoying looking at the great artwork on display. I think many of the children are also looking forward to having lunch and as always the train trip has been a highlight.  More photos to follow.
