Local History Week Exhibition 2024

Each year group researched and presented work on significant locations in the local area as part of local histoy week. They included RAF Hornchurch, Romford Market, Hornchurch High Street and Squirrels Heath Junior School itself. They focussed their enquiries around key questions such as ‘how has the location change over time?’ and ‘what is the location’s significance to the local area?’

Our children also visited the library and were able to enjoy an exhibition of each year group’s work.

A great start to Stubbers

 It has been a great start to our adventures at Stubbers!  We went on a nature trail around a large lake, that we will be using later on today for water sports activities. We even managed to find some exciting equipment to play on along the way.  We are now eating our lunch, and getting ready for the fun this afternoon.  Keep checking for exciting updates!

What a great first day at Stubbers

After lunch, we all started our first activities. We all got to go on a climbing wall, with many of us reaching the top. We also got to try open canoeing or double kayaking, even though it was meant to be fairly dry activity many of us managed to get nice and wet. After our activities we found our tents for the next couple of days and then had our dinner, it was a very tasty bolognaise with fruit for pudding.  We are now waiting for our evening activity, the mini Olympics, then time for some well earned rest.  We will keep you updated in the morning. Another exciting morning at Stubbers

 This morning, we have been able to try out lots of new activities, including paddleboarding, a team challenge, archery and combat archery. Everyone has got involved and had great fun.  I am sure that everyone is looking forward to their lunch and their afternoon activities   We will keep you updated later on, remember keep checking in!
