Planets In Our Solar System
The Solar System consists of the Sun and the eight planets that travel around it. We use the word ‘solar’ because it means ‘related to the Sun.’
The eight planets of the Solar System in order of distance from the Sun are
Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.
In the playground, using cones and various size balls we made a simplified scale model of the distance the planets are from the sun.
