Marvellous Minibeasts in Reception

During the past week some of our caterpillars climbed to the top of their cups and  shed their skin for the last time and became chrysalides. We have transferred them to their hatching habitat as it will take another two weeks before they change into butterflies. We are learning to be patient!

 

As part of our topic work, we have made our favourite minibeasts made from salt dough. We have made caterpillars, butterflies, snails and even spiders! We are looking forward to painting them when they are completely dry.
