Buried Treasures and Digestive Discoveries in Year 4
This week in Year 4, we have been travelling back in time to Anglo-Saxon Britain, researching the fascinating artefacts found at the Sutton Hoo ship burial and discovering what it can tell us about life in the past.
Our mathematicians have been busy developing their subtraction skills, using the column method to solve calculations with increasingly large numbers.
We have also been putting our descriptive writing skills to the test, independently creating vivid descriptions of settings from our class book Pirates and Pistols.
Our young scientists have been getting hand-on with their learning, creating their very own models of the human digestive system to demonstrate how food travels through our bodies, investigating the mechanical and chemical processes involved.
We have continued developing our invasion game skills in PE. Providing valuable practice for the up and coming FOSH sponsored shoot.
Finally, we are half way through this months Times Tables Rock Stars competition! Sycamore class and Hazel class have been neck and neck battling it out for the top spot. Rowan aren't far behind either, and there's still plenty of time to catch up!
