Y6 Festive Fun!

Image
Year 6 have had a very festive week. They have taken part in a wonderful Carol Concert in the playground, a reindeer hunt at lunchtime and of course it was Christmas Jumper and party day on Thursday! They’ve also found time to solve Xmas Maths puzzles and finish building their shelters in DT.  We wish all the children and their families a very Merry Christmas and enjoy the holiday!

Making working lamps in Year 4...dynamic designers!

Well done to the children in Year 4 for producing some amazing lamps this week, they carefully designed and adapted them to ensure they even work! Here are a few of our Tiffany inspired pieces...

Creating sketch maps in Year 4.

Image
Unfortunately our planned trip to the field had to be cancelled as the field was far too wet to be used.  This however did not mean that the fun had to end and all the children were able to create a sketch map of the local area.  The children found it very enjoyable to look at maps of the local area and use Google Maps to explore more closely our surroundings.  Many children had fun finding their own homes on Google Maps. Take a look at some of our sketch maps below.

The Snowman English writing in Year 3.

Image
The children have produced some wonderful writing after watching The Snowman by Raymond Briggs in English this week. It really captured their imagination for writing descriptively.  Here is an example of one of their beginnings. One winter morning a small boy was tossing and turning in his comfy, blue bed, with his duvet wrapped around him like a burrito. He opened his eyes to a wonderful sight, there was a blanket of white snow covering the grass, he could no longer see green.  After gathering his clothes and putting them on, he went to the doorstep and pulled his green welly boots on. He completely forgot his hat, scarf and gloves so his mother pulled them on before he dashed outside, the snow crunching under his feet.

Year 5 Christmas Fun!

Image
The Christmas spirit is alive in Year 5! It was a busy day, the children had the chance to visit Father Christmas in his grotto. They even got to go to the Christmas Bazaar where they played various games such as Pick Up A Penguin, Plinco and Ice-Drop. We have also been busy little elves making hot chocolate cones which were sold at the bazaar. Fun was had by all.
